Tomorrow sees the digital release of my favourite version of 'Kiss Me On The Lips'. It's a day that at one point, I didn't think would arrive.
Originally penned in demo form for the full band, it got overwhelmed by the various COVID lockdowns. To prove I was still alive, the demo stems were sent to the genius producer Paul Tipler (Idlewild, Placebo, Julian Cope, David Bowie) and 2 versions were produced from the less than perfect raw material I provided. The first was attached to a video which was rush released for Valentine's Day 2021, with the second version intended for release on the 'Rise Up' album, again delayed by COVID and its repercussions.
Finally the album is nearly ready and slated for release early in 2023. It will be released digitally and will also be available in CD form (with the artwork being the final piece in the jigsaw and well on the way to completion).
'Kiss Me On The Lips' is the second single from the 'Rise Up' album. I've kept the video as before, but now with the different version of the song. Watch out for the links on social media. In the meantime, the video can be found on this website (as indeed with the first version) and it is also available now on YouTube via the following link - https://youtu.be/igVLeXUqgGU
And Tim Clayton & The Higher Lovers WILL RETURN with 'Everybody thinks I'm Nice'.
